There are some bands who need a momentary turn of the searchlight on them to get the fame and recognition they deserve, CIS are among them. With a balanced and delicate mix of BOSTON melodic skills and QUEEN majesty, volume they are here to remind us of what quality Hard rock with syrup choruses and pomp verses means.
Although my review might sound a bit of cliche,CIS know how to write a catchy tune, aiming for the AOR radio but not so much for the Miami highways as for the Adult oriented rock fans all over the world, who like something vigorous, yet melodic and catchy to wake them during the traffic jams from home to work and vice versa. As always, powerhouse vocalist. Damien Edwards makes the songs sound accessible and easy, while he moves from the falsetto to the more down to the ground. The rhythm section is tight and drives the band's locomotive steadily, while the guitars are sharp, crystal cleaR and in the best tradition of riff driven masters.
Songs like "My Father's Eyes", "Occam's Razor (Not The End Of The World)","Forever & Ever", "When Love Collides" are for the Premier League of melodic pomp rock and you could expect them easily to be at the songlist of STYX,MAGNUM etc but they are product of this still not famous enough ,tet so talented band.,
So if you're into melodic Hard rock, with pomp elements and AOR credentials, all in one, make yourself check CIS,not only this but also their previous albums.
